*Two of the biggest programs that assist low-income mothers, SNAP (food stamps) and WIC, won’t  cover diapers or baby wipes. 


*Needing  diapers and not being able to buy them was a leading cause of mental health problems among new moms, according to Pediatrics Journal. 



*30% of mother’s report that they can’t afford diapers 



*An adequate supply of diapers costs $18 a week, according to the researchers. Therefore, a single mom making minimum wage of $7.25 per hour would have to pay more than 6 percent of her gross earnings to afford diapers for one child.
